We started Kigali Braids because we wanted a studio that respected hair, time and money. If you've ever left a salon with tight braids, a crooked parting or a frontal that lifts after a week, you know how rare that respect is. Today our chairs in Sejemu, Gikondo — a two-minute walk from Gikondo Market and five minutes from the Sonatube roundabout — are full from 8am to 9pm with women who came once for a knotless install and now come back every six weeks.
Where most Kigali salons specialise narrowly — natural hair only, or a hotel spa with no braiding craft — we kept the menu broad on purpose. Protective styles (knotless, box, Fulani, cornrows, Marley twists, butterfly locs), seamless install work (sew-ins, HD frontals, closures, glueless wigs), nails (gel, acrylic, classic pedicures) and full bridal all live under one roof, finished by the team that earned Best Women Artist 2024. You can book a braid install and a gel manicure on the same afternoon and never leave the chair more than once.
Quality starts with the hair itself. Our bundles, 13x4 and 13x6 HD lace frontals, closures and wigs are 100% human hair where stated, graded and photographed before they reach the shelf, and stocked locally in our shop so the texture you choose is the texture you wear home — no bait-and-switch. Every install includes aftercare guidance by WhatsApp: how to wrap at night, when to wash, how to keep edges healthy between visits.
